Fitness Motivation using Hypnosis

We all know what it likes when the first bout of laziness gets in the way of our new fitness routine. For the last five or six days, you jumped out of bed full of energy, laced up your running shoes and set off before you even had time to think about it. So far, so good, and you were feeling great!

Then disaster hit. You had to stay up an hour longer than you wanted to last night to get assignments in on time. As a result, when you woke up this morning, you did the worst possible thing you can do to a fitness program: you thought about it!

You gave yourself a second to stop and contemplate how much work it would be to put on those shoes and start pounding the pavement. Why bother when you can just sleep in and make up for that extra hour? So you roll over and go back to sleep. But in the back of your mind, you know that it’s the start of a slippery slope. Now that you’ve broken the chain, it’s going to be hard to get that fitness motivation back. Within just a few days, this running thing is going to be just one more failed fitness routine on the pile.
When is it going to stop?

This has probably happened to all of us at one point or another. Just what is it that makes it so easy for us to exercise if we do it right away, but difficult if we procrastinate? Chances are good that, deep down, you still feel at least some aversion to the exercise. No matter what you tell yourself on the outside, or how much you say you love running, there’s probably some part of you, a holdover from your old days, that is resistant to the idea and would rather go back to sleep.

When you delay, you allow this subconscious part of your mind to take over. The unvoiced doubts and repressed reluctance come to the forefront and sabotage your efforts to finally get in shape. What’s worse is that you can’t block this from happening forever. As long as those feelings exist in your subconscious, they’re going to manifest sooner or later.

So what to do?

Simply remove those negative thoughts from your subconscious mind altogether! For years now, hypnotism has been used as a successful motivational tool in all kinds of situations where interference from the subconscious mind becomes a concern.
For instance, smoking. When someone is trying to quit smoking, they usually have problems because their subconscious mind is so adapted to the habits of smoking. They might find themselves absentmindedly reaching for a cigarette, only able to stop themselves at the last second when they really realize what they’re doing. Understandably, this kind of thing can take a toll on one’s motivation.

Hypnotism works by allowing the hypnotist to bypass one’s conscious mind altogether and deliver suggestions directly to the subconscious. It’s the difference between someone telling you, in a waking state, “you need to get in shape”, and really having the internal desire to do so. When your subconscious desires are altered so you really desire that you get in shape, you’ll suddenly find that you have no problem whatsoever sticking to your exercise routine!
